There will be some great theater, aside from a wedding, on the Dream!


What is Disney best known for? That’s right…its family entertainment, including the unrivaled Broadway-style musical productions you’ll find aboard Disney Cruise Line!

Honoring the recent addition to our fleet, the Disney Dream, I would like to tell you about “Disney’s Believe.” This original musical, created exclusively for the Disney Dream, headlines the repertoire of stage spectaculars presented in the Walt Disney Theatre.

“Disney’s Believe” introduces you to Dr. Cornelius Greenaway, a brilliant botanist obsessed with his work. You’ll also meet his imaginative and spirited daughter, Sophia, who is heartbroken because her father overlooks her birthday while being preoccupied with cultivating his precious plants.

Sophia then makes a special birthday wish…and POOF! Genie from Disney’s “Aladdin” magically appears in Dr. Greenaway’s garden to teach him a valuable lesson about what’s important in life.

Did you know this stage show was created exclusively for the new Disney Dream? Here are a few fun facts:
  • “Disney’s Believe” features magical effects designed by a master illusionist.
  • Six high-definition projectors and more than 200 scenic elements come together to create the imaginative worlds of “Disney’s Believe.”
  • More than 300 costumes and 200 wigs are used in the show.
  • The show features more than 20 Disney characters.
  • Each performance of “Disney’s Believe” includes 28 performers and more than 15 technicians.
Now that you’ve gotten a small sampling of some show highlights, you’ll have to see it in person to get the full effect…I’m certain that you’ll enjoy the story as much as I do!

The Disney Dream will arrive at Florida’s Port Canaveral tomorrow, completing a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean that stretched approximately 6,500 miles.  With great partnership between Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering and built by skilled craftsmen at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is a marvelous realization of many dreams. Let’s take a look back: Construction began in March 2009 with the first piece of steel cut for the scrollwork on her bow, a pattern that evokes the classic ocean liners of the 1930s. She celebrated her keel laying in August 2009 and in June 2010 the ship’s final building block was attached , including the golden scrollwork. In October, the ship finally left dry dock and floated out into the shipyard harbor to the delight of the many spectators who came out to witness her public debut. Rotational dining is unique to Disney Cruise Line , and the three dining rooms on the Disney Dream showcase cuisine that beautifully fits with each theme. Here’s a look at Animator’s Palate , Royal Palace and Enchanted Garden , with our favorite dishes. In case you haven’t been aboard the Disney Cruise Lines ships, rotational dining is a way of making sure each guest experiences each of the dining rooms. Every evening you have the same tablemates and the same servers as you “rotate” – you get a schedule when you board which tells you exactly when and where to go.
