Sadly, not everyone we invited can make it to the celebration. We just got a card from someone who still may make it that I wanted to share. I DO have a feeling we will see them on the cruise though.
The Disney Dream will arrive at Florida’s Port Canaveral tomorrow, completing a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean that stretched approximately 6,500 miles. With great partnership between Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering and built by skilled craftsmen at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is a marvelous realization of many dreams. Let’s take a look back: Construction began in March 2009 with the first piece of steel cut for the scrollwork on her bow, a pattern that evokes the classic ocean liners of the 1930s. She celebrated her keel laying in August 2009 and in June 2010 the ship’s final building block was attached , including the golden scrollwork. In October, the ship finally left dry dock and floated out into the shipyard harbor to the delight of the many spectators who came out to witness her public debut.
